2018 Native Plant Conference – Scholarships

College students interested in attending the 2018 Memphis Horticultural Society Native Plant Conference may apply for scholarships to cover their conference registration.  The conference will be held on October 26-27, 2018 in Memphis. Morning sessions will be held at the Memphis Botanic Garden, with afternoon sessions scheduled at the Botanic Garden and at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, Lichterman Nature Center, and Shelby Farms Park.

Scholarship selectees will be required to prepare a tabletop presentation relevant to the conference topic and assist with logistics and wayfinding during the conference.  The conference theme is “Cultivate Wild!” and scheduled presentations center on the value of native plants in landscaping (private and public), conserving “wild” spaces, and providing habitat for native pollinators.

Scholarship slots will be limited, so those interested should begin thinking about their proposals now.  Additional information on how to submit your proposal will be forthcoming.  If you would like to be on the mailing list for information, please send an email to memphishorticulturalsociety@gmail.com with “Plant Conference Scholarship” as the subject.
